The on-request review article gives you the why – this list gives you the what: broken into points, in checkable form. Open it on your policy anniversary (or when the annual statement arrives), and you'll get through it in fifteen minutes.
In short:- Five blocks: premium and cap - allocation - the indexation decision - data - documents.
- At year-end (November-December), it's worth running through the cap block separately because of the ad-hoc (top-up) payment option.
- If you get stuck on any point: ask me – I help where I can.
Premium and cap
- The year's total payments added up (regular + ad-hoc)
- Use of the tax-credit cap checked (2026: the 20% applies up to HUF 650,000 in payments per year – the cap article)
- If the cap isn't fully used: an ad-hoc (top-up) payment considered before December 31
- Is the premium still comfortable? If it's a strain: the valves reviewed
- If you have several supported products: the combined limit checked (the caps)
Allocation and cost bonus
- Time remaining recalculated – closer to the target date?
- The asset-fund mix still fits the horizon (risk levels) – on a life-cycle path: is the path still the right one
- Bonus credits due have arrived (bonuses)
- Last year's tax credit is showing up on the statement (if not)
Indexation and data
- Anniversary letter read – the proposed increase amount known
- Indexation decision made using the three-part test: can the budget take it? does it bring a tax credit? does it affect the bonus? (the decision map)
- Beneficiary designation up to date (updating it)
- Contact details and personal data current
- Life changes considered: job, income, family
Documents and wrap-up
- Annual statement saved to your folder
- Questions written down – and asked (of me or the insurer)
- The next anniversary and the tax-return period in your calendar
Done. That was the fifteen minutes that keeps the policy's full value in good order – same time next year. If anything changes in your life in the meantime: don't wait for the anniversary, reach out.
